Overview
EF Education First is seeking an Activity Leader in Cambridge. This part-time role (ASAP start) involves supporting the Activities Manager and the Activities Coordinator in organising and delivering a wide range of activities, excursions and events for international students. Hours are flexible on a zero-hour contract, with potential for full-time, permanent employment. Hours are available throughout the week and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Leads groups of international students on a variety of activities and day trips (day trips typically on Saturday)
- Creates a lively atmosphere during excursions, delivering excellent customer service
- Takes responsibility for health and safety of all students including completing and adhering to risk assessments and emergency situations in line with EF policy and procedures
- Research excursion destinations, leads a guided tour at the destination and gives interesting information and facts to students
- Liaises with co-leaders and the Activities Manager/Activities Coordinator to discuss how to improve future activities and gives a thorough handover after each activity or event to aid future planning
- Attends and assists the Activities Manager with large events
- Ensures the EF Student Code of Conduct is followed by all students at all times and informs the management immediately if there are any issues or problems

- Confident in leading and managing groups of students
- Highly organised and thorough, able to use initiative and work unsupervised
- Ability to handle difficult situations with ease and remain calm under pressure
- Customer service minded and quality oriented
- Awareness and appreciation of cultural differences
- Excellent communicator both with students, colleagues, and external clients
- A flexible approach to work and hours of work undertaken is essential
- Fluency in English
