EF Bournemouth International Language Campus is seeking a Homestay Coordinator to help grow and support our homestay community. In this role, you’ll be connecting with local families, often by phone, to encourage them to join our network, while also placing international students in welcoming homes. The focus is on creating safe, supportive, and culturally enriching experiences that benefit both students and host families.

Position Details:

  • Full-time or Part-time (10 hours p/w)
  • Monday – Friday
  • ASAP Start

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively contact prospective host families by phone to introduce EF, build relationships, and encourage them to join our homestay network.
  • Preparing written information to be given to prospective and current homestay providers.
  • Working with our homestay providers to find suitable accommodation for our language students while they study with us in the UK.
  • Processing & maintaining homestay accommodation records using the EF’s own accommodation database.
  • Providing pre-departure accommodation information to providers about arriving students.
  • Attend local events or organize info sessions at community centres to present the benefits of hosting international students.
  • Visit potential host homes, check living standards, assess cultural compatibility, and complete safety evaluations.
  • Respond quickly to host-student mismatch situations and help arrange emergency placements when needed.
  • Reporting to Homestay Manager to ensure there are sufficient homestay beds to accommodate our peak season and to make sure student details are provided accurately each week for arriving and departing students.
  • Support students and providers with move and transfer requests when necessary.
  • Strive to improve the quality of our homestay provision.

Requirements:

  • Given the on call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to nature & hours of work undertaken is essential.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and CRMs (desirable).
  • Highly motivated, energetic, positive.
  • Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations.
  • Sensitive to needs of international students living away from home.
  • Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients.
  • Attention to detail, organised & thorough.
