Your Role: Tasked with being in charge of the onsite residence staff; you will grow your leadership skills by assisting your residence leaders in guiding their groups from the unfamiliar to the unforgettable. After a summer of working as a Residence Manager, you will leave having created truly amazing memories for your students and managed a team of international staff. You will expand your organisational skills to ensure the room allocations are maximised and the paperwork is in control. Working with staff from around the world, your communication skills will be maximised to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Our Residence Manager role is available for 8-12 weeks during June, July & August.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the summer management team to deliver an exceptional experience to our students.
- A live-in position that sees you having the overall responsibility for a hotel/residence and the students/staff who are staying there.
- Support a team of international leaders to ensure our students have a home away from home experience.
- You will take care of room allocation, supervise a team of leaders and ensure the hotel staff work in harmony with your team.
- You will liaise with residence owners and staff on anything from cleaning to theme events and safety.
- You will share the emergency duty of the site on a rota basis.
Requirements:
- A flexible approach to hours of work undertaken is essential.
- Experience of managing or leading a team desirable.
- Highly motivated, energetic, positive.
- Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner.
- Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations.
- Sensitive to needs of international students living away from home.
- Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients.
- Attention to detail, organized & thorough.
- All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- This is a live-in position where accommodation and full board is provided at no extra cost, there are some residential requirements attached to this.
