Job Summary

As a Senior AWS Engineer at Eeze, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and managing our global AWS cloud infrastructure. You will focus on creating scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments that support our gaming platforms and operations. Working closely with cross-regional teams, you will be responsible for implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), managing key AWS services, automating processes, and ensuring the highest levels of system availability and resilience.

This role demands deep technical expertise in AWS technologies, cloud architecture, and automation, with a strong focus on maintaining agility in a dynamic and high-growth environment. As a Senior you will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating best practice, mentoring more junior members of staff and proactively seeking to innovate.

Key Responsibilities

  • AWS Expertise: Architect, implement, and manage global AWS environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. Key services include EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, VPC, Transit Gateways, S3, MSK, and CloudFront.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring consistent, repeatable, and automated deployments across all environments.
  • Automation & Scripting: Automate operational tasks such as monitoring, backups, patching, and scaling using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages. Identify and implement continuous improvements to reduce manual intervention and increase efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for securing cloud resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitoring & Incident Management: Proactively monitor AWS environments for performance, availability, and security issues. Act as a third-level escalation point for AWS-related incidents, quickly resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously analyse and optimize AWS costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization while meeting performance and availability requirements.
  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to ensure minimal disruption to services in case of failures or outages.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with cross regional engineering teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with development goals. Help develop those around you. Maintain comprehensive documentation for AWS infrastructure and processes, use of JIRA.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an AWS environment as an Engineer, with a focus on AWS infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
  • AWS Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, VPC, Transit Gateways, S3, MSK, CloudFront, and Route 53. AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps) is highly desirable.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
  • Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash to automate infrastructure operations. Use of Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and pipelines.
  • Cloud Security: Deep understanding of AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS, network security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proficiency in using AWS CloudWatch, AWS Config, and other monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus and Grafana) to ensure performance and availability. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Cost Management: Experience in optimizing AWS infrastructure costs while maintaining high system performance and availability.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-regional teams in a dynamic, distributed environment.
