The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Project Lead who will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering cybersecurity initiatives aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). This role ensures that cyber projects support the organization's strategic objectives across the five NIST CSF functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, and dashboards
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Coordinate risk assessments and asset inventories to inform project scope and priorities
- Lead implementation of security controls and awareness programs within project deliverables
- Become the ‘go to’ person for Cyber Security solutions
- Embed secure by design into IT/Business Projects
- Conduct threat modelling & architecture reviews
- Define secure configuration baselines, security architecture and patterns
- Ensure integration of monitoring and detection capabilities in new systems and upgrades
- Develop incident response capabilities and ensure readiness as part of project outcomes
- Support recovery planning and resilience measures in all cybersecurity initiatives
- Be an active member of the CAB, assessing each request from a cybersecurity perspective to make informed decisions on what controls need to be applied
About You
Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or another relevant discipline within the fields of information security or information technology. You will hold Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent and a Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification. Industry relevant professional qualifications e.g., Sec+, CySa+, Vendor Specific are not essential but highly desirable. You will bring proven experience in managing cybersecurity projects and programs, with strong knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, project management methodologies, and cloud security best practices. A solid understanding of Azure architecture, networking, and identity management is essential, along with familiarity with cybersecurity technologies and risk management practices. You will be confident coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and communicating clearly at all levels. Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or energy is important, as is a good understanding of key compliance standards including GDPR, NIS CAF, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
