Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Chief Operating Officer role based in Ellesmere Port. The COO will oversee day‑to‑day refinery operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance across production, maintenance, supply chain, and supporting functions. The role includes leading operational strategy to deliver the company’s decarbonisation roadmap, aligning operational plans with sustainability, regulatory, and commercial objectives. The COO will collaborate with executive leadership to set performance targets, manage operational risks, and drive continuous improvement, digitalisation, and innovation. Responsibilities also include developing high‑performing teams, strengthening operational governance, and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to support EET Fuels’ growth and transition goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong business leadership capabilities, including Business Planning and strategic Operations Management, with a track record of delivering complex transformation or decarbonisation programs.
  • Robust financial acumen, including experience in Finance, Budgeting, and cost optimisation within an industrial, energy, or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret operational data, performance metrics, and risk indicators to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams, with inclusive people leadership, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Extensive senior‑level experience in refining, petrochemicals, energy, or heavy industry, preferably with exposure to low‑carbon technologies or energy transition projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to partner with regulators, industry bodies, and community stakeholders.
  • Relevant university degree in engineering, business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or similar) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality standards, with a strong focus on operational integrity and compliance.
