Duties:
- Reviews product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems.
- Independently analyses and recommends safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
- Develops safety documents as required to support customer and test/operational range requirements.
- Performs audits of operational areas and reports the effectiveness of the system safety program.
- Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in the identification of causes and corrective actions.
- Evaluates the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design and development requirements to ensure the most cost-effective program.

- Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.
- Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
Skills:
- HV system knowledge & ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) knowledge of all the parts.
- BEV & PHEV HV system architecture knowledge.
- Design Validation (DV) and Production Validation (PV).
- Experience with full Safety Lifecycle from Hazard analysis and risk assessments through to safety validation.
- Ability to lead safety analysis activities across interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with safety verification testing and fault injection testing.
Education:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field.
- Additional certification in Functional safety.
- 7-10 years Functional Safety HV system experience.
- ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) assessments and FMEA (Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis).
- Strong understanding of High Voltage Architectures (batteries, inverters, power distribution, charger, DCDC).
