Eelpower Energy, the leading battery storage platform in the UK, is recruiting a talented and ambitious investment professional to join their Corporate Development team. Eelpower Energy are well established constructors‑owner‑operators of grid‑scale battery assets in the UK. Between 2018 and 2024 the team built seven of the largest BESS projects in Great Britain and are among the largest operators of batteries in the country. As part of a large fundraising transaction, Eelpower Energy is now backed by a consortium of three large institutional investors who have committed to fund the acquisition and construction of £500m / 1 GW of BESS assets in the UK over the next few years. The Corporate Development team is at the forefront of this strategy, leading the commercial engagement, modelling and acquisition of new projects that will be funded and built.

Responsibilities of the Investment Analyst / Associate:

  • Build, run and maintain financial models, including standard and ad‑hoc sensitivities to support commercial negotiations and investment approval processes.
  • Prepare Information Memoranda, business plans, and financial reports.
  • Analyse financial, technical, and development documents to quickly assess new project opportunities.
  • Support team members in live deals, conducting research, supporting negotiations and preparing key transaction materials.
  • Manage multiple due diligence processes, including handling of project documents / VDRs, and coordination of external advisors.
  • Contribute to business development, strategy and networking activities alongside colleagues in the corporate development team and across the company.
  • Assist in the management of the investment pipeline and prepare reporting materials on pipeline and new opportunities for senior management, shareholders and board meetings.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years related investment experience (i.e. from advisory, funds, corporate finance, utilities/developers, banks).
  • Strong accounting background.
  • Excellent analytical and modelling skills: ability to build from scratch, run and maintain financial models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics.
  • Professional working proficiency level of English is required.
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, internally and with external parties.
  • General understanding of development process, risks, and acquisitions/valuations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of UK renewable energy market and BESS technology is desirable but not required.
