Design, build, integrate, and support voice and data systems for onshore and offshore environments. Support projects from tender stage through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing customer support. Work with internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver voice and data solutions.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Support system installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding activities.
- Produce clear, accurate technical documentation using Visio and Microsoft Word.
- Provide technical input to, and support outputs from, projects and tender activities as required.
- Carry out on-site and offshore activities in support of project delivery.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and the implementation of safe systems of work at all times.
- Participate in a 1-in-4 on call support rota, providing out-of-hours technical support as required.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as required to support the project teams and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of project documentation.
- Maintain effective communication across all levels of the company to ensure information is shared accurately and promptly.
QHSE responsibilities:
- To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
- Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.
- Promoting a proactive health and safety culture focused on the prevention of work-related injury or ill health and continual improvement in our processes/performance.
- Environmental sustainability and energy efficiency whilst minimising our environmental impacts and preventing pollution.
- A quality culture that brings values to our business, our customers and other interested parties ensuring quality issues and opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented.
Skills and experiences:
- Background in radio communications, IT networking, or systems integration.
- Understanding of IP networking, including routing, switching, and basic firewall concepts.
- Experience in building, configuring, and troubleshooting technical equipment and systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues methodically and effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to work at height and in offshore environments.
- Experience working offshore or within the renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge of wireless communication technologies including VHF/UHF, microwave, and cellular systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for operational and networked systems.
- Experience producing installation documentation, system schematics, and risk assessments.
- Experience with Private LTE, 4G, or 5G networks, including design, deployment, or support.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in an IT or communications-related subject, or equivalent industry experience.
