Energy Efficiency Consultants (EEC) is a specialist consultancy delivering PAS2035-compliant retrofit services across government-backed decarbonisation programmes, including Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (Wave 3) and Warm Homes: Local Grant (WH:LG). We work with housing providers and contractors across the UK to improve homes, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure high-quality, compliant retrofit delivery.
We are looking for a motivated graduate or early-career professional to join us as a Trainee Retrofit Coordinator. This is a structured development role designed to support you in building a career within the retrofit sector. You will work closely with experienced Retrofit Coordinators, gaining hands-on experience across live projects while developing the knowledge required to become a qualified Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator. From the outset, you will gain exposure to how homes are assessed, how improvement options are developed, and how projects are delivered in line with PAS2035.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will support the coordination of retrofit projects from initial assessment through to delivery, assisting with documentation, reviewing energy and property data, and learning how Improvement Option Evaluations are developed.
- The role will involve exposure to a range of measures including insulation, heating systems, and renewable technologies, while also developing an understanding of compliance requirements such as PAS2035 and TrustMark.
- You will also attend site visits and client meetings, giving you a well-rounded understanding of both technical delivery and stakeholder coordination.
What We’re Looking For
You will hold a degree in a relevant subject such as building surveying, construction, architecture, engineering, or sustainability, and have a genuine interest in improving the energy performance of homes. We are particularly interested in individuals who are detail-oriented, organised, and able to communicate clearly, with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn. Prior experience in retrofit is not required, but an understanding of the built environment or energy assessment would be beneficial.
Training & Progression
This role includes full support to achieve your Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator qualification. You will receive mentoring from experienced professionals and follow a clear development pathway, with the opportunity to progress into managing your own projects within 12–18 months.
Why Join EEC?
You will be joining a growing consultancy operating at the forefront of the UK’s retrofit agenda. We offer the opportunity to work on meaningful decarbonisation projects from day one, within a team that values quality, collaboration, and professional development.
Application Process
To be considered, please include a short statement outlining your interest in retrofit and energy efficiency, along with any relevant academic or project experience. Applications without this may not be considered.
