EeBria is a small but rapidly growing company owned by people who are passionate about craft beer and the whole beer industry. We use a unique marketplace model to sell craft beer, connecting either consumers or pubs and restaurants directly to the brewery online. We work with over 300 breweries with thousands of customers and pubs using our two platforms and we are at the forefront of the beer scene, tapped into the best breweries with access to the best beer and working to improve the beer on sale all over the UK. We’re a ten person company (but growing!) based in a Railway Arch in Bermondsey. We look for enthusiastic and energetic people to grow with us and share in the company’s success.
What you do: You will work on making our platform better, adding new features, debugging what’s there already and making sure the website stays up and running no matter the sales volumes. The role will certainly but not exclusively include the following:
- In the office 5 days per week but also available in the occasional crisis
- You will soon get to grips with understanding exactly what makes us tick (literally)
- With the support of our Head of Tech, maintain the integrity of the EeBria.com and EeBriaTrade.com sites and databases
- Drive efficiency in the back end, working with ops to streamline processes and reporting
- Improve the user interface, experience and troubleshoot bugs
- You’ll help us with customer tech issues as they arise
- Pitching in! Everybody at EeBria is expected to help out whenever there is a need so you might have to pack the odd box, cover in a customer services crisis, help on the EeBria Taproom bar and taste test the occasional beer.
Who you are:
- Passionate about great beer (in moderation!) - you can convey this passion to everybody you meet
- Technical - your skill set ideally already includes:
- Groovy on Grails
- Java (some experience required)
- MySQL (some database experience required)
- Spring
- Hibernate
- Nginx running on Ubuntu server (basic linux understanding will help)
- HTML / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery
- Git (any source control experience will be useful)
- Knowledge of OOP concepts, TDD and Agile
- Problem Solver - you have excellent analytical skills and enjoy a challenge
- Troubleshooting is your middle name - you’re calm in a crisis
- Proactive - you take the initiative and actively seek improvements in what you do and how we work
- Adaptable - you’re comfortable working on everything from the database to the front-end
- Practical - you simply get things done
- Intelligent - quick to understand, quick to process and not afraid to ask when you don’t know
- Committed - you’re in it for the long haul
