Why this job matters
Working in strategy means you're at the heart of defining BT Consumer (across BT, EE and Plusnet) for the next 2â5 years. You partner with senior stakeholders to investigate new ideas, shape concepts, and help our CEO tell the business story.
What you'll be doing
- Identify, analyse, evaluate and recommend strategic opportunities to underpin BT Consumer growth.
- Participate in dialogues with specific business groups to formulate and implement revenueâgrowth strategies.
- Lead small projects or workstreams supporting dataâdriven recommendations, including environmental assessment, analytics and business case development.
- Develop clear, compelling materials to support strategic decisionâmaking with concise narrative.
- Manage strategic modelling and analysis to inform the BT Consumer strategic plan and operating model, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
- Present findings to influence senior stakeholders (MDs/CEO) across BT's Consumer Division.
- Monitor market, competitor and industry insights to identify new growth areas.
- Support preparation and presentation of adâhoc papers for Board, ExCo and the CEO.
- Champion emerging trends and share knowledge on strategy development.
The skills and experience you'll have under your belt
- Essential experience in strategy/management consulting, inâhouse strategy, corporate development, FP&A/Commercial Finance (ACA/ACCA), PE/VC, or a highâgrowth consumer tech business.
- Teamâplayer with analytical rigor, comfortable with ambiguity, capable of endâtoâend ownership.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders across BT Group; able to challenge and influence.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and ability to prepare compelling strategic materials.
- Advanced analytical skills; comfortable in Excel and able to build financial models and business cases.
- Experience in telecoms, TV or comparable industries is beneficial but not essential.
