We are experts in fitting out some of the world’s most prestigious hotels, commercial interiors, and private residences.
Apprentice Rate: £8.00 per hour, increasing for those aged 19+ and in the 2nd year
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:00 and Friday 07:00 – 13:15
Role Commencement: August/September 2026
About the Role: As an apprentice, you will learn how to machine and manufacture wood components used across the furniture and interiors industry. You’ll work with a range of materials and machinery to produce high-quality products such as:
- Doors and window frames
- Floorboards, skirting, and panelling
- Bespoke wood products
You will be trained to set up and operate woodworking machinery, cut and shape timber, and prepare finished components to specification.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Operating and setting up woodworking machines
- Cutting, shaping, and finishing timber and wood-based materials
- Selecting and fitting tools such as saw blades and sanding belts
- Inspecting and preparing finished products for dispatch
- Following health & safety procedures at all times
- Supporting production targets and quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
What We Are Looking For In Our Apprentices:
- A strong passion for woodwork and bespoke interior design
- Someone willing to learn all aspects of wood machining
- A strong interest in manufacturing, woodworking, or engineering
- Willingness to learn and develop practical skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Basic maths and English (or willingness to achieve them during the apprenticeship)
This role can be physically demanding and involves:
- Standing for long periods
- Handling machinery and tools
- Lifting materials
- Working in a workshop, factory, or sawmill environment
Training & Qualification: You will complete the Wood Machinist Level 2 Apprenticeship over approximately 24 months, including:
- On-the-job training
- Off-the-job learning with a training provider
- Development of a portfolio of evidence
- In house practical assessments throughout the course
- NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent
End-Point Assessment (EPA): At the end of your apprenticeship, you will complete:
- Practical observation (minimum 3 hours)
- Professional interview (minimum 70 minutes)
You will be graded: Pass | Distinction. Upon successful completion, you will receive your Apprenticeship Certificate.
