Purpose
To lead the integration of sustainable practices across the hotel group while driving operational excellence, ensuring that each property operates efficiently, responsibly, and in alignment with the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. This role serves as a strategic and operational bridge between central leadership and property-level teams, championing initiatives that reduce environmental impact, enhance guest experience, and improve overall performance across the portfolio.
Location & Hours
Based in the London office, 40 hours per week. Travel to other group sites across the UK and Europe will be required as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Leadership
- Develop and implement a group-wide sustainability strategy aligned with ESG goals.
- Monitor and report on energy, water, and waste metrics across all properties.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint, including renewable energy adoption, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
- Collaborate with property teams to drive behavioural change and deliver sustainability training.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and innovation.
- Report regularly on agreed KPIs to Edyn ManCom and Brookfield.
Operational Excellence
- Support hotel GMs and Operations teams in achieving sustainability KPIs.
- Identify and implement process improvements across housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B operations.
- Lead cross-property audits and benchmarking to ensure consistency, efficiency, and best practice sharing.
- Provide sustainability and operational input into openings, refurbishments, and capex projects.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key liaison between Central Operations, Property Teams, and external partners.
- Represent the group in industry forums and sustainability networks.
Stakeholder & Owner Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for ownership groups, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Deliver clear, data-driven reports on performance, strategy, and key initiatives.
- Collaborate with corporate teams in Revenue, Marketing, Finance, and HR to align property goals with broader business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience in premium hospitality, serviced apartments, or luxury residences.
- Proven delivery of sustainability projects with measurable benefits to the ESG agenda.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, ISO 14001).
- Excellent project management and analytical skills.
- Confident working with data and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster a culture of engagement, retention, and professional development.
