We have an exciting opportunity available within our Galashiels office for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Rural Administrator on an initial part time basis. The role of Rural Administrator will provide full administrative support to our Rural Surveying and Agricultural Consultancy team, in an efficient, courteous and informative manner, as well as assistance with general office administration, answering phones and reception duties.

The principal duties for the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Rural estate & farm management – assisting the rural department with all aspects of farm and estate management, including accounting, cottage booking, and sporting lets.
  • Marketing and business development – such as assistance with the preparation of particulars, the listing of rural properties on portals, social media posts, and assisting with organising events.
  • Administration tasks – including raising invoices, maintaining databases, assisting with compliance matters, managing diaries and typing/formatting reports, dictation/audio typing.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service – being the first point of contact in person and on the phone.

The successful applicant will be well presented, and possess the following attributes:

  • Strong customer service skills and a good telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Good organisation and good time keeping with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ambition with a willingness to take on new tasks.
  • Experience of Sage and Propman advantageous but not essential.
