Overview
In this role you will lead the Manufacturing Engineering Operations team in Eastbourne to create a cost‑effective, innovative electronics manufacturing strategy.
You will drive the introduction of new products to operations, ensuring quality, delivery, safety and cost targets are met.
You will champion world‑class manufacturing standards and position the site as a benchmark for PCA and box assembly.
You collaborate with NPI teams to apply manufacturability standards and lead continuous improvement through VTPS deployment and other initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a forward-looking capital investment plan for equipment renewal and capability expansion
- Set and achieve ambitious OEE targets with strong engineering support across zones
- Collaborate with NPI teams to ensure manufacturability and balanced engineering support
- Establish standardised NPI processes (routing, DFMEA, PFMEA, build standards) for volume production
- Ensure active participation in MR/TR and PCP processes to drive design-for-manufacture excellence
- Optimise shop-floor layout and space utilisation for current operations and future growth
- Lead SHE program and promote a safety-focused culture across the site
- Drive VTPS deployment with the BPI Lead to embed continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Manage cost-centre budgets and headcount with disciplined cost control and reporting
- Support Operations Manager in delivering OGSM and site development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, Risk Control Elements, and ISO 45001:2018
- Key requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing implementation
- Significant experience in electronics manufacturing processes
- Understanding of surface-mount and through-hole assembly processes
- Understanding of electrical and electronic components and their packaging
- Experience in a technical and people management role
- Strong coaching abilities
- Understanding of PFMEA and DFMEA
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) and SAP experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency
