Overview
As Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Development, you lead the ME team to ensure new products are manufacturable, testable, and cost-effective from concept to industrialisation.
You drive DFx, PFMEA/DFMEA, and NPI deliverables, shaping product roadmaps and manufacturing strategies.
You will Partner with cross-functional teams to embed manufacturing requirements early and champion a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, fostering inclusivity and technical excellence
- Champion DFx strategies across DFM, DFA, DFT, DFS, and cost-based design
- Establish and enforce PFMEA and DFMEA within NPI processes
- Influence concept selection, architecture definition, and design reviews to embed manufacturing requirements
- Define and maintain NPI deliverables including manufacturability assessments and build standards
- Ensure team participation in technical and manufacturing reviews and production control
- Provide deep electronics and electromechanical manufacturing expertise (PCA, box build, testing, system integration)
- Oversee prototype and pilot builds ensuring validation before volume production
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, ISO standards and risk controls
- Highlight capability gaps and investment needs to inform product roadmaps
- Key requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience in Manufacturing Engineering in product development or NPI environments
- Expertise in DFx including DFM, DFA, DFT, and cost-efficient design
- PFMEA and DFMEA knowledge embedded in NPI frameworks
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole, testing, final assembly)
- Ability to influence design and engineering teams and senior stakeholders
- Exceptional people leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, preferably SAP, and standard project tools
