Your role at Edwards involves designing and manufacturing Exhaust Management Systems that help customers safely break down harmful or flammable gases, releasing cleaner emissions into the environment. By enabling cleaner emissions from critical processes, we play a meaningful role in improving air quality for the communities where our customers operate.

We are looking for a chemist or chemical engineer who is curious, thoughtful, and motivated by meaningful work to join our Particulate Technologies team. Particulate emissions are a growing global challenge. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new technologies aimed at reducing particulate emissions towards zero, directly contributing to improved air quality in the environments where our customers operate.

This is a practical, hands-on role that combines experimental research, technology development, and data analysis, carried out within a supportive collaborative team.

You will:

  • Set up and run experimental test systems (including safe installation of test gases)
  • Build, commission, maintain, and modify experimental rigs
  • Investigate technical challenges and contribute to solutions collaboratively
  • Run experiments and ensure safe, organised clean-down afterwards
  • Collect high quality experimental data using appropriate instrumentation
  • Analyse and interpret results to guide technical decisions
  • Communicate your findings clearly through reports and presentations
  • Contribute ideas and supportive development of concepts through to trial
  • Work with engineering teams to translate technology requirements into product designs
  • Support internal and external customers globally, as appropriate

How We Work:

You will spend time in the laboratory carrying out practical experimental work. You will work both independently and as part of a diverse, supportive team. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and respectful communication are central to how we operate and our culture. Project priorities may change, and we value adaptability and open discussions to manage workloads effectively.

Over time, this role may expand to include additional responsibilities across the wider Edwards business, aligned with your interests and development goals. As the role develops, there will be opportunities to take on broader responsibilities across Edwards, aligned with your interests and career goals. You will report to a Technologist.

You do not need to meet every requirement listed to apply — we are interested in your potential as well as your experience.

Qualifications and Experience (desirable, not all essential):

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience gained through academia, industry, placements, or research projects in areas such as:
  • Industrial gas chemistry
  • Analytical or research laboratories
  • Product or technology development (typically 1–3 years, though relevant postgraduate or project experience is equally valued)

We are particularly interested in people who enjoy problem-solving, value collaboration, work safely and thoughtfully, and are keen to learn and develop over time.

In return, we offer:

  • Culture of trust and accountability
  • Lifelong learning and career growth
  • Innovation powered by people
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits
  • Health and well-being
