As a Principal Full Stack Engineer, your mission is to design, develop, and sustain a cradle‑to‑grave software support application (APP) for Thermal Management Solutions (TMS), aligned with the business’s strategic objectives, delivering differentiated customer value on schedule and within budget. You will report to the TMS Commercialisation Manager. The mission includes setting architectural direction, establishing standards, and governing the usage of AI agents to ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and developer productivity for both system and platform level software. There is a desire to incorporate B-to‑B sales in the near future through the APP.
The principal engineer acts as the technical authority for the support application stack, mentors junior engineers, and manages sprint deliverables. The principal full stack engineer will work with Product Management and the Commercialisation Manager to determine sprint activities, design direction, functionality and priorities. The goal is an intuitive, easy‑to‑use support application that enables anyone to quote, order, install, and maintain TMS products.
Technical Leadership & ArchitectureOwn the architecture of support applications across front end, back end, APIs, integrations, and data services. Design scalable, secure, high‑performing, and maintainable solutions aligned to business needs. Define and enforce architectural, coding, API, and operational standards. Lead architecture reviews and resolve complex cross‑team technical challenges.
AI‑Assisted Development & Agent GovernanceLead AI‑first development practices, including AI code generation and agent ecosystem design. Define AI agent roles, workflows, guardrails, prompting strategies, and validation processes. Ensure AI‑generated solutions meet quality, security, testing, and documentation standards. Continuously improve how AI accelerates software delivery and guide teams adopting AI development practices.
Collaboration & MentorshipPartner with product, UX/UI, DevOps, security, platform, and engineering teams. Mentor senior engineers and provide clear architectural direction for independent delivery. Contribute to technology strategy through reviews, workshops, steering groups, and communities of practice. Lead cross‑functional working groups to drive measurable outcomes.
Technology Strategy & RoadmapShape the roadmap for support applications and enabling platforms. Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI capabilities. Balance innovation with enterprise reliability and contribute to long‑term technology decisions. Translate strategic goals into clear, actionable delivery plans.
To succeed, you will need:
- 10+ years’ experience in software development and full‑stack architecture design.
- Strong expertise in modern front‑end frameworks, back‑end services, APIs, distributed systems, and data architecture.
- Experience with AI‑assisted development tools, code generation, and agent‑based workflows.
- Proven principal‑level technical leadership and mentoring experience.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure cloud environments.
- Experience working within enterprise or regulated environments and supporting internal/service platforms.
- Strong architectural thinking, organisational, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent written and spoken English. Ability to estimate effort, track progress, and communicate effectively across diverse teams. Collaborative team player with strong leadership and influencing skills.
