Overview
Your role: 2026 Programme – Year in Industry Chemist. Edwards Exhaust Gas Management (EGM) division is seeking a Year in Industry Placement student to undertake development work in the Clevedon Gas Abatement Laboratory. The position will be within the innovation, development and applications (IDA) group, interacting with an interdisciplinary environment of engineers and scientists. The position will report to a Technologist.
Responsibilities
- The role requires an ability to work in an industrial lab environment and observe Edwards EHS rules and guidelines.
- Analytical chemistry skills including instillation of test gases, leak checking of test equipment, analysis of gases using equipment including FTIR, mass spec, electrochemical cells, analysis and write up of data.
- Ability to contribute to innovative technology development or product improvement.
- Carry out risk assessments on prototype equipment or lab test rigs and to operate them safely.
- Ability to interact with other members of the team.
- Collect accurate data and write up detailed and accurate reports on experimental work.
- Ability to present and convey the results of this work in a concise and clear way to other members of the team.
