As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will have direct responsibility for leading, empowering and motivating a growing team of Electrical Engineers involved in semiconductor equipment manufacture. You will report to the Technical Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the core of our engineering and product development teams using engineering tools and methods to bring clarity from ambiguity and deliver products that meet Requirements, Standards, Directives, and are cost effective.
  • Collaborate with and influence our engineering teams to ensure clarity of work packages and deliverables, and resolve engineering issues by determining the best solution.
  • Be accountable for the technical elements of the product system and/or subsystem design, as assigned, identifying risks, control and mitigation actions, and escalating issues when necessary for higher-level resolution.
  • Ensure modularity and standardisation is incorporated to maximise reuse of our engineering effort.
  • Be accountable for safety and type testing of any system or subsystem you are responsible for, verifying and validating its compliance; review and approve reports generated in this area by the team.
  • Mentor and coach a growing core team of Electrical Engineers of all levels of expertise to develop towards becoming Lead Electrical Engineers themselves.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelors (essential), Masters (desirable), or demonstrable equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards (desirable).
  • Significant level of experience in the practical application of best-practice product design, development and electrical engineering in a relatable engineering industry (essential).
  • Experience of project coordination, project governance, methods, and management of teams (essential).
  • Significant experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry (essential) such as the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry (desirable) including product safety and compliance to applicable standards (essential).

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site in Bristol, United Kingdom (GB).
