An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Test Engineer to join the Edwards team at Product Company Eastbourne.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the NPI development team and for the development of automated Module Test and PCA Test solutions for new products entering into volume manufacturing.
- Design and maintain automated test solutions for the assigned NPI team, including specifying and commissioning test systems at both PCA and module level.
- Create CEPs for all test solutions.
- Support test solutions for the manufacturing team up to formal handover to Operations.
- Ensure test errors are appropriately reported and false failures are resolved.
- Confirm FTTFR targets are understood and that test equipment and methods are sufficiently robust to meet these targets.
- Create manufacturing test solutions suitable for low- to medium-volume production during NPI development.
- Commission these in collaboration with the Operations team and hand them over for use in stand-alone product build and test.
- Explore opportunities to use automation to reduce test times and simplify operator interfaces to minimise potential for human error.
- Investigate new test methodologies that could improve automation levels and reduce overall test times.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate these methods into future NPI projects.
- Design and develop automated Electrical Safety Test Systems for all high-voltage modules.
- Identify opportunities to work with third-party providers to deliver alternative or enhanced test solutions where appropriate.
To succeed, you will need
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent required. Alternatively an Electronics Diploma + demonstrated ability would qualify.
- Strong knowledge of electronics theory and some knowledge of electronics design are key requirements as is an ability to read and work from electronic schematics and system diagrams.
- Strong investigation skills and ability to quickly establish problem root cause.
- An ability to read and develop computer programs developed in Visual Studio (C# or VB.NET).
- Good team working ability and interpersonal communications skills.
- Competent in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job location
This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Eastbourne, United Kingdom (GB). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration. There will be some need to travel to other Vacuum Technique sites and key suppliers as well as occasional customer facing travel.
