As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - A&D, your mission is to primarily deliver best practice mechanical engineering of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will report to the Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the technical delivery of mechanical engineering expertise to a project, including subsystems and technology developments.
  • Leading and guiding 'Mechanical Engineering' activities across applicable projects.
  • Advocating and supporting the adoption of best practice mechanical engineering to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality and specification, whilst ensuring the appropriate level of effective technical governance is in place for safety, compliance, quality and reliability.
  • Supporting the creation and distribution of work packages, often across multiple cross-functional teams, guiding the project toward a successful passage through project milestones through to completion and volume production.
  • Ensuring mechanical engineering of product development meets stakeholder and product requirements, and is compliant with relevant regulations, directives and standards, by design.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Engineering Degree Bachelors (minimum, essential), Masters (desirable), or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Working towards and committed to achieving registration with a recognised engineering institution (desirable).
  • Experience of design for x principles (x being manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability etc) (Essential).
  • Preparedness to undertake further professional development including training courses to increase your knowledge and enhance your capabilities (essential).
  • Experience of mechanical engineering and design in a relatable engineering industry (desirable).
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry such as the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry (desirable), including strong understanding of product safety and compliance to applicable standards (desirable).
