At their site in Sheffield they are requiring a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic and hardworking team on a permanent basis.
THE ROLE:
The main tasks and responsibilities include:
Accountability for all electrical, electronic, and process control work (planned / breakdown) occurring on the plant.
Providing first line maintenance/breakdown rectification resource, performing hands-on engineering expertise to deal with the problems safely and effectively, including internal and external plant lighting site wide.
Managing electrical engineering activities on shift to comply with all internal and external health, safety and environmental requirements, specifically including the Permit to Work System, High Voltage Safety Rules (EIS5) and Isolation and Immobilisation procedures.
Carrying out electrical Installation work as required in accordance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.
Assisting with the planning of shift activities where particular expertise is required.
Carrying out and supporting continuous improvement activities when necessary.
Providing relevant information and reports of plant breakdowns to assist in the completion of Single Event Analysis (SEA) and acting as a member of the team assisting in the implementation of actions to prevent re-occurrences where applicable.
Ensuring accurate recording within SAP of information relating to engineering issues on shift.
Working on, or assisting with, work on mechanical systems.
Leading, coaching and developing other employees, in particular the Electrical Apprentices.
For this position of Electrical Maintenance Engineer your working hours working 4 on 4 off working days and nights this is a 6 til 6 shift.
THE CANDIDATE:
Required:
Driven to work in a demanding and challenging environment.
Educated to an HNC level or have proven electrical experience in a large steelmaking environment.
Be able to demonstrate an awareness of a melting shop environment.
Able to demonstrate a high level of practical Mechanical / Electrical hands-on skills.
Able to lead, coach and develop other employees.
Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of continuous improvement programmes, particularly planned maintenance activities.
A good communicator, both verbal & written.
Able to demonstrate good planning skills and problem-solving abilities.
Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the health and safety and environmental policies and plans.
THE BENEFITS:
33,000 salary with an increase of 7% after 3 months
30% shift allowance
For working extra hours, there is a 13-hour payment each month = 2,475 a year (Not guaranteed)
Quarterly bonus with a max pay out of 20%
Overtime is paid at 1.5 x with certain Bank Holidays paid at 2 x (Overtime is on Saturdays)
28 days holiday (for 1st year including BH, increasing annually up to a max of 35 after 5 years’ service)
Pension – Under 30 – 1% (Employee),matched, 10% (total potential)
30-49 – 1-3% (employee), matched, 10-14% (total potential)
50+ 1-5%, matched, 10-18% (total potential)
