My client is a well-established manufacturing company based in Doncaster, with a modern manufacturing facility. They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their hard-working and professional team. This role will involve carrying out fault finding and repair activities in the event of any breakdowns. In addition, planned maintenance schedules, projects and general workloads, including supporting drawings and documents will be undertaken in line with scheduling to industry standards.

THE ROLE:

  • This role will supervise the Electrical and Mechanical Teams in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all engineering workloads and tasks are undertaken as planned and needed to suit the business requirements.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to, working in line with H&S procedures and company policy.
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records and reports through written/email/reporting software systems (AllDevice).
  • Assist with the issuing and management of permits for employees and contractors.
  • Supervise all maintenance aspects to include breakdowns, planned, project work and contractors.
  • Identify and maintain critical spares stock for all Plant addressing shortfalls where required.
  • Operating to and creating any risk assessments and method statements within the maintenance activities carried out in the maintenance department.
  • Working from drawings including reading and interpreting engineering drawings from multi disciplines.
  • Mentor/Support/Train members of the team in engineering aspects as per the business needs.
  • Identify and manage maintenance department equipment upkeep to industry standards.
  • Administer and Manage the Maintenance Workload to include that of managing contractors on site.
  • Conduct Investigations and Meetings as per the business requirements for engineering aspects.
  • Cover for any shift personnel absence as required by the business.
  • Maintaining and managing good housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Follow work instructions in a safe manner and abide by all SOPs and risk assessments to ensure leading by example.
  • Follow and manage on company 5s standards.
  • Any other reasonable duties.

Working hours are Monday to Friday working days, 4 on 4 off on a rotating shift pattern, with occasional night shift when required by business.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Apprenticeship Trained in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • IOSH Certified.
  • Experience of working in Heavy Industry and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work and manage under pressure.
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
  • Good organisational skills to industry standards.
  • Ability to mentor and train other members of the team.
