THE POSITION: The main objective of the role will be to cover all day-to-day HR in a truly operational HR generalist role where no two days are the same. A key part of the role is to support all operational staff and be the go-to person in HR, coaching, supporting, advising on all things HR, and where appropriate challenge site operational managers and operational staff on all HR matters, helping develop and grow their HR knowledge and capability ensuring and maintaining a strong people-centric culture. Supporting and coaching managers on the full range of HR activities covering ER, GDPR and compliance, contracts, employment terms and conditions and HR procedures. Ensure compliance with local law, legislation and internal policies and procedures. Responsibility for recruitment, talent, succession and workforce planning, salary reviews, evaluations and getting involved in HR projects and companywide initiatives. Efficient and correct administration of employee data and HR related communication to employees. Support with data analytics to help drive performance and support strategic workforce planning. Closely partner with key stakeholders to ensure HR projects and initiatives are appropriately communicated and implemented regionally. Provide full end-to-end ER case management covering sickness and absence, grievances, disciplinaries, and all ER issues. Must be prepared to travel to other UK sites if required. Have an interest in business partnering with key operational stakeholders across the business.
THE CANDIDATE: CIPD level 5 (or working towards) with at least 2 years strong operational HR generalist experience. Excellent communication skills and can quickly achieve credibility and respect at all levels at different sites with various stakeholders. Capable of negotiation and influencing operational managers when required. Confident person, can work from their own initiative and someone who is 'an ideas person' finding solutions to problems, keen to understand the business, build a strong people and culture. This role will suit a confident HRBP who is capable of being (or stepping up) into the role of the 'Go to HR person' at sites and taking full responsibility for day-to-day HR and HR projects. Good experience dealing with ER (employee relations) and case management and up-to-date employment law knowledge. Previous experience coaching and mentoring operational staff at all levels. This is a great role for someone who likes a busy and varied role (where no 2 days are the same). Must be prepared to visit other UK sites and deal with HR issues (occasional overnights possible). CIPD 5 (or working towards Level 5) An HR Professional who has experience and is comfortable working with blue/white collar staff.
