We are delighted to be working with this expanding local business that is looking to recruit a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to the team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position involves close collaboration with the Operations Team, Traders, and other support functions.

The Role:
- Plan the loading and shipment of traded product from source to destination in line with the sale terms.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to ensure efficient shipments.
- Participate in the Container Risk working Group to manage and minimise risks.
- Handle container claims with shipping lines and cargo insurers as needed.
- Maximize margins and ensure customer satisfaction on shipments.
- Produce accurate and timely forecasting information for stakeholders.
- Ensure timely container loadings according to sale terms.
- Collaborate on project work with the Container Operations Manager.
- Monitor shipment issues until container collection and return.
- Maintain communication with trading partners and provide planning information.
- Coordinate logistics with support functions and traders.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Work with inspection agencies to meet destination market requirements.
- Help meet department KPIs and integrate SAP into container operations for better reporting.
- This role may involve responsibilities outside the formal job description to ensure smooth operations.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a senior logistics role.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and good geographical knowledge.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Detail-oriented with good numeracy and computer skills, preferably SAP experience.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin/Health, VGM, etc.
