Mission/Purpose of the Job

The Workshop Technician is responsible for assembling, disassembling, and testing vacuum pumps according to a weekly plan. They assist and cooperate with team members on Corrective Action Reports as required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review HS2 documentation daily.
  • Use the correct PPE and obey BAM processes and procedures.
  • Meet daily production targets regarding quality, volume, and efficiency. Collaborate with other zone members and the Zone Leader to establish priorities and ensure customer due dates are met.
  • Inspect parts, assemblies, and systems following work instructions, drawings, schematics, or other technical data.
  • Perform daily checks on calibrated tooling before use.
  • Perform leak tests and assist in troubleshooting failures.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and follow assigned tasks.
  • Report problems promptly to management and seek assistance for complex issues.
  • Maintain a clean work area according to good housekeeping practices and 6S standards.
  • Maintain quality and time standards, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately as per work instructions.
  • Raise issues and observations at SIM2 meetings.
  • Follow the Kanban system and VTPS rules/standards.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • High School diploma, preferably in a mechanical/technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or similar.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Good PC literacy; experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Ability to read drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Some knowledge of English is highly advantageous.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, flexible hours, detail-oriented, and faithful.

Scope of the Job

  • Work under prescribed safe handling procedures.
  • Observe work areas for hazards and avoid unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Report hazards and participate in corrective measures.
  • Report injuries or near misses immediately and cooperate in investigations.
  • Participate in training and perform only tasks for which trained.
  • Notify the Zone Leader of any potentially hazardous tasks due to inadequate training or PPE.
