As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - PCA, your mission is to own the manufacturing system within the PCA manufacturing cells by the maintenance and continuous improvement of the safe and LEAN processes for existing and new products to ensure operations on time to standard and within budget within the PCA cell.
You will report to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager - PCA.
You will:
- Support the existing products within the cells
- Provide manufacturing engineering support to the manufacturing operational team where needed.
- Lead continuous improvement activities through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and waste reduction.
- Creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, technical specifications for manufacturing equipment.
- Active training process, procedures, documentation, and traceability to create and sustain the workforce competences within the allocated manufacturing cells.
- Implement and maintain suitable metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Manufacturing process in the allocated cells.
- Design, prove, implement, and maintain Cell manufacturing system layout.
- Work with other departments and suppliers to support all the quality issues on components and products in PCA.
- Active member of the manufacturing cells Visual Management setup.
- Integrate new products into existing cell and agree standards for acceptance into the production Cell.
- Document and trace processes for the allocated manufacturing Cell in compliance to our current regulations in terms of ISO ****, ***** and OHSAS*****.
- Support internal and external quality management and audits where required.
- Preventative analysis and corrective actions for safety incidents within the allocated manufacturing cell via Risk analysis techniques.
- Preventative analysis of production quality incidents within the allocated manufacturing cell via FMEA.
- Capital equipment specification, procurement and commissioning.
- Process definition, specification and documentation.
General accountabilities:
- Ownership and accountability to resolve or support any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process of the allocated cells utilising 8D/RCA techniques.
- Accountable for the definition, setup, and optimization of the processes within the allocated manufacturing cells.
- Accountable for the accuracy of manufacturing technical data, for example: product routings and Standard Operation Procedures, within the allocated manufacturing cells.
- Responsible for the compliance of the production processes to current regulations in terms of Health, Safety and Environment.
- Perform cut in investigation for the Engineering Change implementation process and ownership of the consequential phase out/in process for the involved parts and products.
- Lead Total Preventative Maintenance processes and activities.

Skills and knowledge must have:
- PCA Assembly Processes
- Minimum 5 years experience in surface mount and through hole application
- Working Knowledge of MS Office - Word/Excel/Sharepoint/TEAMs
- Good interpersonal and team working skills in manufacturing environment
- Confident with working on own initiative
- High energy and motivation levels
- Ability to interpret and review PCB/PCA CAD data drawings or packages
- Strong analytical, presentational and commercial skills
- Strong communicating skills (English verbal & written)
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of implementing Lean manufacturing techniques
- Experience within an ERP system
- DFMEA + PFMEA
- Project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects
- Experience of utilising problem solving and root cause analysis tools as in a manufacturing environment
- Use of risk mitigation tools to control risks within processes and prioritise risk to be mitigated
Skills and knowledge desirable:
- SAP ERP specific knowledge
Qualification/Education/Certification:
- Degree in Electronics/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering subject or equivalent experience.
- HNC/D NVQ level 4 in Electronics/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering subject with additional relevant experience.
