As a Principal Electrical Engineer, your mission is to play a crucial technical leadership role within an organisation. You are a technical leader who combines technical expertise with strategic thinking. You drive innovation, manage projects, and guide engineering teams toward excellence. Principal Engineers are extensively experienced, can see the bigger picture as well as dive into the detail of complex engineering challenges, and apply a working knowledge of engineering, science, and systems thinking to support unique and essential engineering projects at the heart of the semiconductor fabrication industry. You will report to the Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and be accountable for the design, development and maintenance of modules/sub-assemblies for current/new/customised products in accordance with Edwards' Product Commercialisation Process and Engineering Change Process.
  • Define the Engineering Specification targets and ensure conformance to the relevant international, national and industry safety standards.
  • Approve and be accountable for the verification of designs and ensure they conform to the relevant design standards and safety reviews.
  • Manage the design and development of sub-assemblies of a product ensuring the specified quality and cost are achieved to the agreed project time scale.
  • Accountable for the on time delivery of detailed documentation of project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • An Electrical Engineering Degree (minimum 2:1) or other relevant engineering qualification with + years industry design experience - Essential.
  • Accreditations and/or formal qualifications in Functional Safety - Essential.

Experience

  • Design for manufacture, design for assembly and maintenance - Essential.
  • Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics - Essential.
  • Application of safety rated control systems - SIL ratings, EN61508, EN13849, EN61511 - Essential.

Skills

  • Experience using electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, and/or other drafting tools) - Essential.
