Edwards Lifesciences is leading the way in innovation within our Transcatheter Mitral & Tricuspid Therapies (TMTTs). Edwards offers multiple transcatheter programs aimed at transforming care for many patients suffering from mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. Due to our continued growth, we are strengthening our team in the UK and have a Field Clinical Specialist (TMTT) opening. This role is responsible for providing education and support to physicians on Edwards' leading technologies, device handling, implantation and troubleshooting techniques and case support. We currently have an opening in the Midlands UK / central England. This role is field-based with regular travel required to hospital sites within both the local region, as well as national and international travel as required to support clinical cases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education on all aspects of technology of the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapy device; including device handling, implantation and troubleshooting techniques related to equipment, tools and products required for device implants including full certification for independent case support.
  • Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel and hospital staff on all aspects of technical matters related to products and procedures including imaging through conducting and/or coordinating one-on-one ad hoc training sessions and in-service structured education programs on one technology.
  • Responsible for upselling in key strategic accounts working in conjunction with Business Managers.
  • Develop and continuously improve training curriculum, training materials and training tools, based on clinical trial experience, EW guidelines and SOP.
  • Responsible for certification of the centres, physicians and other related staff, as well as EW personnel and as outlined within EW SOP.
  • Validate software and hardware updates in the field as applicable.
  • Regularly review clinical support activities, changes in the market and assigned accounts, as well as competitive activity with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales).
  • Other incidental duties.

What you’ll need

  • Previous work experience within either medical devices industry in a clinical support role or NHS / Hospital clinical role related to Cardiology / Structural Heart Disease.
  • Cath lab experience, and comfortable working in this environment with HCPs.
  • Imaging experience.
  • Echocardiography experience / certification would be highly desirable for this role.
  • Training experience in clinical / technical environment preferred.

What else we look for

  • Experience in areas such as TAVI, CRM, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, AAA, cardiac surgery, vascular or another complex cardiology device.
  • Proven expertise in MS Office Suite and ability to operate general office machinery.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular science and cardiovascular anatomy, pathology and physiology.
  • Some understanding of medical device regulatory requirements and documents, device accountability and adverse events reporting.
  • Transoesophageal echocardiogram (TOE) preferred.
  • Imaging analysis software skills (e.g. 3Mensio, TomTec, Vitrea, Circle VI, etc.).
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
