Gareth and his team at Edwards Garden Design & Maintenance (established 1998) provide garden maintenance services to private gardens and estates around Monmouthshire, the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean, and South Gloucestershire. They work primarily on large estates and historic landscapes, which can be both challenging and fulfilling.

Gareth is looking to add an Assistant Gardener to his current team. The role will encompass routine grounds maintenance and high‑standard horticultural practices across historic landscapes, orchards, kitchen gardens, family gardens, formal gardens, and wildlife gardens. This particular position will involve extensive work in a newly established vineyard, a family garden & kitchen garden near Abergavenny, and gardens closer to the Severn.

The role starts on a freelance, part‑time basis (currently four days a week) with the ambition to develop into full‑time as the workload increases.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive work in a newly established vineyard
  • Routine estate and garden maintenance tasks
  • Strimming, brushcutting, and mowing
  • Orchard work

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of plants, flowers, and trees
