Edward Vinson is looking for a motivated and organised Assistant Labour Operations Manager to join our Farm team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating busy daily operations and making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time. You’ll work closely with the Labour Operations Manager, Harvest Manager and Team Leaders to help deliver an efficient, productive and safe operation.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, organising and managing staff on site on a daily basis, including monitoring attendance and absence.
  • Monitoring individual and team performance and helping ensure productivity targets are achieved.
  • Working closely with Team Leaders to monitor harvest and husbandry activities and address any operational issues.
  • Supporting the Harvest Manager with crop estimates, planning and daily activities.
  • Reporting directly to the Labour Operations Manager and providing regular operational updates.
  • Organising transport arrangements and completing daily registers when required.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate paperwork and records relating to the role.
  • Monitoring and implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Supporting and completing risk assessments and actively contributing to a positive Health & Safety culture.
  • Helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organisation and performance across the operation.

  • Comfortable communicating with people at all levels and able to ask questions, seek clarification and exchange information effectively.
  • Able to remain organised and make decisions while working under pressure.
  • Flexible and prepared to work longer hours and weekends when operationally required.
  • Professional in their approach and personal presentation.
  • Motivated, proactive and willing to take responsibility.
  • Ambitious and interested in developing and progressing within Edward Vinson.
  • Familiar with soft-fruit growing and harvesting processes, or able to develop a strong understanding of them quickly.


Essential requirements

  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • Good computer skills and confidence using standard workplace systems.
  • Full clean driving licence.
