Our client, a growing law firm, is hiring for a Residential Property Solicitor in their Conveyancing team. This role is based in the London office and offers a salary of £60,000 per annum (depending on experience).
The Role:
- Communicating with clients on a daily basis, dealing with matters over the phone, email or in person
- Updating branches and building relationships with our referrers
- Chasing outstanding enquiries
- Checking mortgage offers and searches
- Title checking and reporting to clients
- Raising and signing off the enquiries
- Maintaining and checking Due Diligence and Risk Assessments in line with the firms’ policies
- Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and data protection regulations
- Exchanging contracts and completing the transaction
- Updating and maintaining a case management system
- Sending quotes and letters of instruction
- Compiling draft contract packs
- Ordering searches
- Liaising with other parties’ solicitors, brokers and estate agents
- Managing property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, new build and shared ownership transactions, remortgages and transfers of equity from inception until post completion
- Updating clients on progress of matter
- Compiling SDLT returns
- Dealing with requisitions
- Invoicing
- Archiving files
Required Knowledge (not limited to):
- Strong experience in residential property, London market including complex Leasehold structures and BSA legislation
- Ability to lead conveyancing transactions for residential properties, from instruction through to completion, including dealing with post completion and administrative aspects if required
- Experience in preparing and reviewing legal documentation, including contracts, transfer deeds, mortgage agreements, and other relevant documentation
- Knowledge of compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices governing property transactions
- Experience in overseeing and managing financial aspects of the transaction, such as client deposits, completion funds, and related disbursements
- A law degree, LPC (or relevant qualification in conveyancing or property law)
- Ability to provide excellent client service
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with referrers (estate agents, mortgage brokers, developers etc)
- Willingness to go above and beyond for the clients and the firm
