Edward Mann are partnering with a growing professional services business to recruit a technically strong Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys technical accounting, financial control, and leading small teams within a fast-paced commercial environment. The role will suit an individual with strong post-qualified experience who is comfortable operating across statutory reporting, audit management, and process improvement while supporting and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts and management of year-end reporting processes
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Leading external audit processes and acting as key contact for auditors
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Supporting technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition and group reporting
  • Reviewing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting procedures
  • Managing and mentoring a small finance team
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects, systems improvements, and process automation initiatives

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong post-qualified experience within a professional services or similar environment
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge with experience preparing statutory accounts
  • Previous people management or supervisory experience, including management of small teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
