We are seeking an experienced Fuel Oil Derivatives Trader to join our trading team as a market maker focused on paper trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing, risk management, and generating consistent P&L through proprietary trading of fuel oil derivative instruments across global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as market maker in fuel oil derivatives (swaps, futures, options) across relevant exchanges and OTC markets.
- Manage and grow a proprietary paper trading book with clear risk parameters.
- Generate consistent, independently driven P&L through directional and relative value strategies.
- Monitor global fuel oil fundamentals, refinery flows, freight, and macro factors impacting pricing.
- Provide competitive two-way pricing and maintain strong broker and counterparty relationships.
- Actively manage risk, including exposure, volatility, and liquidity considerations.
- Collaborate with risk, operations, and compliance to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable P&L track record trading fuel oil derivatives.
- Proven experience managing a derivatives book in a market-making or proprietary trading capacity.
- Strong understanding of fuel oil benchmarks, spreads, cracks, and regional arbitrage dynamics.
- Solid grasp of derivatives pricing, risk metrics (VaR, Greeks), and hedging strategies.
- Ability to operate independently with disciplined risk management.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience trading related oil products (gasoil, crude spreads, refinery margins).
- Established broker and market network.
