As an IT Cover Engineer, you will be the face of our company in the field, providing on-site technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance to our clients. This role is perfect for someone with technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for customer service.
You will be expected to deliver on-site technical support across multiple school locations, providing cover during staff shortages and peak demand periods. The varied nature of this role requires an intelligent and enthusiastic person who has the ability to think outside the box to solve issues independently, but who can also work effectively with our wider IT and school teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and repairs of IT equipment and systems.
- Maintain and monitor systems to ensure optimum performance and security.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and enhance system functionality.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing timely updates and recommendations.
- Assist in configuring and testing new technology systems.
- Provide training and support for end-users on hardware and software solutions.
- Full, clean UK driving license (essential).
- Proven experience in a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
