EduTalent Group are partnering with a lovely primary school to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with autism, global developmental delay and sensory needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring, patient and reflective individual who is passionate about supporting children with complex needs in a personalised learning environment. The pupil is currently learning outside of the main classroom in a dedicated space, with a focus on self-directed learning, emotional regulation and building engagement. This is a full day role from 8:45am to 3:15pm, five days per week, term time only.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with autism, global developmental delay and sensory needs.
  • Support learning outside of the main classroom in a dedicated space, focusing on self-directed learning, emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Maintain a calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting the pupil in line with individual learning goals.
  • Work as part of a supportive and collaborative school environment.
Requirements
  • A calm, nurturing and consistent approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade A* to C.
  • A willingness to work flexibly and adapt to a child-led learning approach.
  • Commitment to supporting emotional, sensory and developmental needs.
  • Full enhanced DBS or willingness to complete background checks.
  • Experience working with pupils with autism, global developmental delay or sensory needs.
  • Experience in a 1:1 or specialist education setting.
  • Confidence supporting pupils outside of a mainstream classroom environment.
  • Access to own transport due to rural location.
