This nurturing, therapeutic environment is designed to help young people feel safe, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes through a holistic and person-centred approach. The setting provides tailored support across two residential areas to meet a range of needs, from developing independence skills to supporting young people with more complex requirements. As a Care Mentor, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care, emotional support, and guidance to help young people thrive both in the residential environment and alongside their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, compassionate care and support to young people aged 8 to 18
- Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour
- Support daily routines including personal care, mealtimes, activities, and bedtime routines
- Build trusting, professional relationships with young people using a therapeutic approach
- Work in line with PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy)
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and trauma-informed practices
- Support communication using tools such as Makaton and PECS where required
