GCSE Physics Teacher Location: Valencia region, Spain Contract: Full-time, permanent Start date: 1 September 2026 Salary: €29,500–€31,000 per year The Opportunity An established British-curriculum international school in the Valencia region is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics Teacher to join its secondary department. The position will primarily involve teaching Physics at GCSE level. Candidates with experience teaching A-Level Physics are also encouraged to apply, as there may be an opportunity to teach the subject at KS5 depending on experience and interest. The role does not currently require the successful candidate to teach Biology or Chemistry, although some flexibility would be welcomed should the school’s requirements change in the future. The school offers small classes, well-behaved pupils who are eager to learn, supportive parents and a collaborative working environment. It is situated in a beautiful setting with convenient access to Valencia city and the Mediterranean coast. Key Responsibilities * Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons at secondary and GCSE level. * Prepare students for GCSE examinations. * Teach A-Level Physics where appropriate to the candidate’s experience. * Adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities. * Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation. * Provide constructive feedback and additional support where required. * Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Science department. * Contribute to the wider academic life of the school. * Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student welfare. Candidate Requirements Applicants should have: * Qualified Teacher Status, a PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. * A relevant degree or strong academic background in Physics or a related scientific subject. * Experience teaching Physics at GCSE level. * Good knowledge of the British National Curriculum. * Strong classroom management and communication skills. * High expectations for every student. * The right to live and work in Spain. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and suitably qualified early-career teachers. Spanish language skills are not required. Salary and Benefits The salary is €29,500–€31,000 per year. New teachers begin on €29,500, with opportunities for annual increases through the school’s loyalty pay scale. Relocation Support Although a cash relocation allowance is not provided, the school has a dedicated member of staff who supports new teachers with: * Finding suitable accommodation. * Opening a Spanish bank account. * Completing local paperwork. * Registering for Spanish social security and healthcare. * Settling into life in the Valencia region. Right to Work Candidates must already have the right to work in Spain. This will most commonly be through an EU passport or existing Spanish residency and work authorisation. A British passport alone does not automatically provide the right to work in Spain.
