EduTalent are proud to be supporting a specialist residential school in Bexhill that is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team ASAP on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive residential setting, helping children and young people aged 5–19 with speech, language and communication needs, learning difficulties, and associated SEND to thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils within a residential care setting during term time
- Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive routines
- Assisting with personal care and daily living activities where required
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for pupils
- Working collaboratively with education and residential staff teams
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Following safeguarding, health & safety, and care procedures at all times
- Working a shift rota which includes evenings and may include alternate Sundays
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is required
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable
- Caring, patient, and resilient nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
