EduTalent are working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Hassocks who are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Leader to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education. The provision offers a nurturing, therapeutic environment where relationships, wellbeing and personal development are at the heart of everything they do. The setting has a strong focus on outdoor learning and therapeutic activities, with animals playing an important role in supporting engagement, confidence and emotional regulation.
As an Activities Leader, you will support pupils through a range of engaging, practical and therapeutic activities designed to develop skills, confidence and positive relationships. You will work closely with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), anxiety and barriers to mainstream education.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to individual needs
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and social development
- Using outdoor learning, nature-based activities and therapeutic approaches to engage young people
- Supporting animal-based activities as part of the provision's therapeutic approach
