Support sustainable, ethical programme growth, and support programme finance, invoicing and post‑award grant management for an international education and wellbeing organisation enabling school and community based programmes for youth across Northern Ireland, South Africa, Sudan and India.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a committed, values‑led individual to support finance, governance, compliance and organisational operations, who is motivated by accountability, clarity and social impact. This role may suit someone who:

  • Has 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, finance administration or accounts support
  • Is organised, detail‑oriented and reliable
  • Is comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial records
  • Is interested in charity, CIC or social enterprise finance
  • Wants to develop skills within a supervised, ethical framework
  • Has an interest in education, youth leadership, wellbeing or social impact
  • Has or wants to develop experience supporting grant‑funded or project‑based work
  • Has strong attention to detail alongside delivery‑aware judgement
  • Has confidence working in a collaborative, values‑led organisation

Experience in charities, CICs or social enterprises is highly valued but not essential. You should be open to learning and working within an established global methodology and comfortable operating in complex, multi‑entity environments.

For this role specifically, it is helpful if you have experience in:

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a Finance & Governance Assistant to support programme‑level finance, invoicing and post‑award grant management across our UK and international delivery. This is a junior, delivery‑support role, designed to build financial capacity while operating under the supervision of a Finance & Governance Manager and a contracted professional Finance Officer. The role focuses on stewarding income once it is secured, rather than generating funds, and supports the financial systems that enable safe, accountable programme delivery. You will work closely with Programme Directors, the Fundraising & Grant Writing Manager and the Founder & CEO, supporting clarity, consistency and audit‑ready records. This role does not carry statutory, fiduciary or sign‑off responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Invoicing & income stewardship
  • Supporting invoicing for schools and education partners, funders and programme partners, parents or guardians (where relevant)
  • Ensuring invoices are accurate, timely and clearly documented
  • Aligning invoices to delivery agreements, grants and contracts
  • Programme & grant financial management (post‑award)
  • Tracking programme‑level income and expenditure
  • Supporting post‑award grant financial tracking
  • Reconciling delivery activity against approved budgets
  • Supporting financial components of funder reports
  • Financial records & governance readiness
  • Maintaining clear, organised financial records
  • Preparing financial documentation for review by the Finance Officer and Manager
  • Supporting audit trails, funder compliance and internal reporting
