We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Hackney that is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from November. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) — providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role:

  • Provide individualised 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language, or social/emotional needs)
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet each child’s learning style and needs
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Encourage social and emotional development through patience, empathy, and consistency

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training
  • Previous experience working with SEN children, either 1:1 or within an SEN school
  • Bubbly, outgoing, and caring personality – able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
