About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Islington. This is a long-term, full-time role (5 days a week) working in the Early Years department, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN).

The ideal candidate will have previous SEN experience in a primary school setting (Early Years experience preferred) and will bring a bubbly, engaging personality to help children feel supported, safe, and excited about their learning journey.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN in the Early Years.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.

Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in young learners.

Support with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social development.

*

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create an inclusive environment.

Maintain safeguarding and uphold the school’s values.

Requirements:

Must have SEN experience (essential).

Experience working in a primary school, ideally in Early Years.

A positive, bubbly, and patient approach to supporting children.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to working full-time, Monday to Friday, on a long-term basis.

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
