Are you passionate about making a difference to children and young people with additional needs? A welcoming specialist SEND school in Abbots Langley is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join its team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and achieve their potential.
You don't necessarily need extensive SEND experience β we are keen to hear from candidates with experience in schools, childcare, care or support work who have the right attitude and a genuine passion for helping children.
What Weβre Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- A caring, patient and supportive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- A willingness to learn and develop your SEND experience.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs or challenging behaviour is advantageous.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
- Help pupils access learning and develop their independence.
- Support communication, social skills, confidence and emotional development.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to meet individual pupil needs.
- Help create a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide personal care support where required.
