A specialist SEN school in Merton is looking to appoint a passionate and creative SEN Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school caters for students with Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, and speech difficulties.
Role Overview
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students with ASD, SEMH, and complex additional needs
- Manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
- Adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
- Work closely with SEN TAs, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and emotional expression through Art
The Ideal Candidate
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Art within SEN, PRU, AP, or mainstream settings
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience supporting ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs
