A specialist SEN school in Merton is looking to appoint a passionate and creative SEN Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school caters for students with Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, and speech difficulties.

Role Overview

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students with ASD, SEMH, and complex additional needs
  • Manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
  • Adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
  • Work closely with SEN TAs, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and emotional expression through Art

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art within SEN, PRU, AP, or mainstream settings
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience supporting ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs
