About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming primary school in London. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, and social/emotional difficulties.
* Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management, and differentiation of activities.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies.
* Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements / Attributes:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, or in a similar childcare/education role (school or alternative setting).
* Strong understanding of special educational needs and effective strategies to support them.
* Patient, empathetic, and resilient with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour positively.
* A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to teamwork.
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; relevant SEN/TA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS on update service (or willingness to apply).
