A specialist SEN school in Merton is looking to appoint a passionate and creative SEN Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school caters for students with Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, speech & language needs and associated behavioural difficulties across KS3 and KS4.

This role is ideal for an Art Teacher with SEN experience or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education.

SEN Art Teacher – Role Overview
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Art lessons across KS3–KS4
  • Support students with ASD, SEMH and complex additional needs
  • Manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
  • Adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
  • Work closely with SEN TAs, therapists and pastoral teams

  • QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art within SEN, PRU, AP or mainstream settings
