We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Southwark. You will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and complex needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Support colleagues with personal care duties where required.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow school policies on Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and Health & Safety.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with ASD and related behavioural needs.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (or equivalent).
  • A genuine commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective when managing challenging behaviour.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a patient and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of SEN students.
